Peugeot

Peugeot 908
The Peugeot 908 is an auto racing car developed by Peugeot Sport in 2011 for the Le Mans Prototype category of racing. Powered by a diesel engine, it is the successor to the Peugeot 908 HDi FAP which competed since 2007. The newer 908 features a smaller diesel than its predecessor, utilizing a 3.7 litres (230 cu in) HDi V8 in order to meet new regulations for 2011. The 908 will compete in all rounds of the 2011 Intercontinental Le Mans Cup including the 2011 24 Hours of Le Mans. The new 908 lost about 150 bhp compared to 2010 but improvements in the chassis and handling made the car much more agile. Rear tyres are now fitted on the front.

Peugeot SR1

The SR1 concept incorporates HYbrid4 technology, which will be launched in the Peugeot 3008 in 2011. In the SR1, at the front, a 1.6 litre THP petrol engine with a power of 160 kW (218 PS; 215 hp), is combined with a rear electric motor developing 70 kW (95 PS; 94 hp). In electric only mode, the car becomes a ZEV (Zero Emission Vehicle), while its combined cycle fuel consumption is only 4.9 litres per 100 kilometres (58 mpg-imp; 48 mpg-US) and 119 g/km of CO2. When the two power trains operate simultaneously, the SR1 develops a potential maximum power of 230 kW (313 PS; 308 hp) and also benefits from 4-wheel drive.
Because the SR1 concept was presented together with the new Peugeot brand identity - and its well-known lion - designers all over the world have seemingly been very eager to capture the new design directions chosen by the French giant, in an attempt to understand where the brand would position itself in terms of design, in the near future.

Peugeot 908

Launched as the replacement for the Peugeot 307 in most international markets, the new vehicle was based upon the old 307’s chassis, but has new bodywork and is slightly longer and wider. Its coefficient of drag is 0.29, and it has a five-star Euro NCAP rating. Following the 2011 facelift, the drag-factor was reduced to 0.28.
The 308 HDi holds the Guinness world record of the most fuel-efficient mainstream car currently in production, having averaged 3.13 litres per 100 kilometres (90.2 mpg-imp; 75.1 mpg-US) over a distance of 14,580 km (9,060 mi), but Peugeot ran foul of British advertising rules by claiming 126 mpg-imp (2.24 L/100 km; 105 mpg-US) in an advert for the car.
The 308 is manufactured in France at the Mulhouse and Sochaux factories. And is also manufactured in Kaluga, Russia for the local market since 2010. The 307 remains in production for several countries, especially those that prefer saloon bodies such as Brazil and China as the 308 is not available as a 4-door.

Peugeot 407

The 407 was the successor to the hugely successful Peugeot 406, and was launched on May 27, 2004. The streamlined design of the car was seen as quite radical, its most distinctive features being its large front grille and the steeply raked screen pillars.
The estate, known as the 407 SW, was launched four months after the saloon, whereas the coupé has been on sale since early 2006.
Saloon and SW models were given a minor facelift in summer 2008 with most petrol-engined models being withdrawn from sale in the United Kingdom and other countries of Europe Coupé: 1,400 mm Saloon: 1,545 mm SW: 1,471 mm.

Peugeot 908 HDi FAP

The Peugeot 908 HDi FAP is a sports prototype racing car built by the French automobile manufacturer Peugeot to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race, starting in 2007 and eventually winning in 2009. This effort, in development since 2005, was publicly unveiled on 15 June 2005. It first competed against the Audi R10 TDI, becoming the second diesel engined sports car from a major manufacturer, and then against the Audi R15 TDI. This was Peugeot Sport's first Le Mans effort since the end of the Peugeot 905 project in 1993. It won 19 from the 28 races in which it raced between 2007 and 2010.
The 908 name is also shared with a Peugeot concept saloon/sedan, named the 908RC, which shares the diesel V12 engine from the 908 sportscar. The Peugeot 908 is not to be confused with another sportscar of the same number that successfully raced from 1968 to 1981, the Porsche 908.
At the 2008 1000 km of Silverstone, Peugeot Sport unveiled the 908 HY, a hybrid electric variant of the diesel 908, with KERS. Peugeot planned to campaign the car in the 2009 Le Mans Series season, even though it would not be capable of scoring championship points, but gave up the idea to concentrate on preparation for the 2009 24 Hours of Le Mans.
