Aston Martin One-77 Named Star of the Show in Miami
Irvine, CA, 31 October 2011 Aston Martin’s ultimate supercar; the One-77 has taken the plaudits at the 41st annual South Florida International Auto Show (SFIAS) in Miami after being named ‘Star of the Show’ by the Southern Automotive Media Association (SAMA).
A nine-member SAMA judging panel bestowed the One-77 with the fifth annual ‘Star of the Show’ award ahead of a host of contenders, deeming it the car South Florida International Auto Show goers would most want to see.
SAMA judging committee chairman, Ron Beasley said: “The judges felt that the new Aston Martin One-77, which made its North American auto show debut in Miami, was just the most exciting vehicle on the floor and it’s the one car that people will come to the show to see.”

Julian Jenkins, Vice President Aston Martin the Americas added: “We took the opportunity with this rare pre-production example One-77 in the country to make a brief visit to the SFIAS offering show goers and automotive enthusiasts a first chance to see the car close-up. We are delighted with the recognition by the SAMA panel and the Star of the Show award.”
This example of the One-77 displayed in Miami is the final pre-production engineering development car, which has covered some 14,000 miles incorporating extensive endurance testing at Nardo in Italy and the Nürburgring in Germany. Meant to give an insight into the testing and development carried out on the One-77 project, this particular vehicle is not necessarily representative of a car for sale, but has still been painstakingly assembled over approximately 2,700 man-hours by a team of 27 technicians inside a purpose-built facility at Aston Martin’s Gaydon, England headquarters.
The One-77, powered by a 7.3 liter V12 engine producing 750bhp and 553lb.ft of torque, is being built to order for no more than 77 customers and is Aston Martin’s ultimate expression of design, engineering and craftsmanship. With its handcrafted aluminum body and full carbon fiber monocoque chassis, which offers an immensely strong and light structure, the One-77 is the most powerful naturally-aspirated road car in the world today.
